It was in mild weather, with the bucolic landscape offered by the city of Yabassi, that the strong delegation of the Top Management of the University of Douala, led by its Commander-in-Chief, Professor Magloire Ondoa, went to the city of Yabassi. As a sign of welcome, the Director of the Institute of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, Professor Tomedi Eyango Minette and his administrative staff welcomed them at the entrance of the city at the place called Ndogbélé crossroads.

      Intervention of the Director of the ISH

 

After spending a pleasant night's rest the day before, the Rector and his suite took part in the work of the second ordinary session of the ISH Council of Direction at the Hotel Titina. This Second Session of the Council of Direction of the ISH, according to the Rector in his opening speech, is the continuum of his First with the main objective of modernizing its infrastructures for a consolidation of its achievements, a guarantee of its role major in the accomplishment of its sovereign missions. The Rector also hoped that the work would take place in friendly harmony against a backdrop of fruitful and constructive debates. He then declared the work open to a round of applause from the August Assembly. The constant quest for excellence in the training provided at the Institute of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences for the 2021/2022 academic year has resulted in a success rate of 86.98% out of 484 students in all fields. The Research and Cooperation component was marked by the holding of seminars, workshops, internships and scientific meetings, in particular the scientific seminar with the business world organized in Douala, the scientific seminar on the writing of scientific articles.

The ISH received warm congratulations from the Rector through the feats achieved by the Director and her team in sometimes difficult conditions, but also thanks to the completion of research projects such as obtaining 'a Patent of invention on the shell of shrimps by an ISH teacher, Dr. Pahane Majesté.
